Mufti Hannan taken on fresh five-day remand
Two fugitive JMB leaders surrender in Joypurhat

          Two fugitive JMB leaders, Tuhin and Rouf, charged with involvement in the August 17 countrywide
simultaneous bombings surrendered before the Joypurhat District and Sessions Judge court Wednesday,
report agencies.
Tuhin, son of late Abul Kashem of Harhil village of Sadar Upazila in Joypurhat and Rouf, son of Malek
Fakir of Marwari Patti East Bazar area of the town went into hiding after the bombings. After investigation,
police submitted a chargesheet against 28 persons to a magistrate court on October 3, and these two were
among them.
So far, police have arrested 20 of the indicted bombers and sent them to jail, while eight are absconding.
Surrendering before the court they prayed for bail but the judge rejected the bail prayer and ordered them to
jail.
Meanwhile, the Tejgaon police have again taken Mufti Hannan on five-day remand in the bomb attack case
on Supreme Court premises.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka Shamsul Alam granted the remand Wednesday.
Police sought 10-day remand after bringing Mufti Hannan to the court in a white microbus wearing a
bulletproof jacket.
Earlier, Mufti Hannan was taken on 10-day remand for August the 17 bombings.
On the other hand, Jaama'atul Mujaheedin Bangladesh (JMB) regional commander Galib was sent to Joint
Interrogation Cell (JIC) in Dhaka from Chandpur for interrogation.
Acting Superintendent of Police (SP) of Chandpur said that Galib and his aides planted the bombs at judge
court, DC office and other important government establishments on August 17 and October 3 this year.
