Two sentenced to death

          Two persons were sentenced Wednesday to death and three others the life imprisonment for killing Roni, a
class eight student, near Kajla bridge under the Demra police station on June 02, 1998.
Metropolitan Additional Session Judge, first court Dhaka, Shamsul Alam while delivering the verdict in the
case acquitted two other persons accused of murdering Roni.
Tutul, s/o of Mannan Fakir and Fazlur Rahman alias Badal, s/o Abdul Wahab Bepari were sentenced to
death while Gulzar Hossain, s/o of Nur Islam and Kabir Ahmed alias Tufan, s/o of Abdul Baset and Ahmed
Ali alias Tiger, s/o late Abdur Rahman received life-term. According to the prosecution story, the accused
persons on June 02, 2998 at about 7.30 p.m. intercepted the rickshaw carrying Roni on the road near Kajla
Bridge, took Roni to a nearby solitary place and strangulated him to death.
