ECNEC approves 7 dev projects worth Tk 17b

          Executive Committee on National Economic Council (ECNEC) Wednesday approved seven development
projects involving Tk 17.81 billion (1,781 crore), reports UNB.
Of the projects, four will be implemented utilising the government's own fund while ADB, Japan and
Denmark will provide Tk 3.22 billion (322 crore) financial assistance to the three other schemes.
The projects were approved at the ECNEC meeting at the NEC conference room, chaired by Finance and
Planning Minister M Saifur Rahman.
The approved projects are: Dhanua-Savar High Pressure Gas Supply Pipeline Construction under Dhaka
Clean Fuel (revised) worth Tk 3.84 billion (384.74 crore), Sylhet 90 MW Combined Cycle Power Station
2nd unit (revised) costing Tk 7.172 billion, Rural Development Project-16: Infrastructure in Patuakhali and
Barguna 2nd phase (second revised) involving Tk 2.754 billion, Water Supply, Sewerage and Construction
of Drain in 19 district towns (revised) costing Tk 418.00 million, removing water logging in Dhaka city
(revised) worth Tk 2.039 billion, Ashuganj-Monohordi High Pressure Gas Supply Loop Line construction
(revised) costing Tk 1.903 billion and Rural Infrastructure Development in grater Barisal district involving
Tk 2.90 billion.
