8/17 bomb blast Daylong briefing for CID officials
11/1/2005

Over 100 officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) investigating the August 17 countrywide series of bomb attacks were called in the city Sunday for a daylong briefing session, sources said, reports BDNEWS.
Senior CID officials mainly discussed and reviewed with them the progress of the investigation into the cases and reviewed the statements, sources closed to the meeting said.
Senior officials, however, expressed dissatisfaction over some IOs' performances due to framing faulty chargesheets as well as making delays in framing those.
The meetings also asked the IOs to frame charge sheets carefully and quickly.
According to sources, the meeting was held at the CID office following the directive from the high-ups. The divisional special suppers (SS) of the CID held discussions with the IOs.
ATM Tariqul Islam, SS Sylhet-Chittagong Division, Meer Shahidul Islam, SS Rajshahi Division, Fazlul Karim Khan, SS Dhaka Division, Ruhul Amin, SS Dhaka Metro Division, and Mohammad Masud Mia, SS Khulna Division were present at the meeting.
