AL to observe ‘Jail Killing Day’ tomorrow
11/2/2005

The main opposition Awami League (AL) will observe the 'Jail Killing Day' tomorrow (Thursday) with countrywide programmes recalling the gruesome killing of four national leaders inside the central jail, reports UNB.
On November 3 in 1975, four national leaders -- Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmed, Mansoor Ali and AHM Kamruzzaman - gunned down inside the Dhaka Central Jail.
To mark the day, the AL has taken up various programmes to pay homage to the slain national leaders. The programmes include hoisting of national, party and black flags atop Bangabandhu Bhaban and all party offices across the country at 5:30am as well as wearing of black badges.
The party will place wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at 6:30am and arrange Milad Mahfil, offer Fateha and Munajat after placing wreath on the graves of the four national leaders at the Banani graveyard at 7:00am.
The party will hold a discussion at the Engineers' Institution in the city on November 12 with party President Sheikh Hasina in the chair, said a press release.
