S Korea's Roh apologises for farm protesters' deaths
12/28/2005

SEOUL, Dec 27 (Reuters): South Korean President Roh Moo- hyun apologised Tuesday for the deaths of two farmers who clashed with police during a violent protest last month against further opening of the country's rice market.
Use of excessive force by police led directly to the farmers' deaths, according to South Korea's Human Rights Commission, which recommended criminal investigations and reprimands of the officers involved.
