Prices continue to slide on both bourses

          The price indices on country's two bourses continued to slide Thursday, the closing day of the week.
The price indices on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) slipped, as the losing issues outplayed the gaining ones. The trade turnover, in terms of volume, decreased but in terms of value, it rose on the day.
The DSE All Share Price Index closed at 1244.03 points, registering 18.68 points or 1.18 per cent fall from 1262.70 points of Wednesday, the previous trading day.
The DSE General Index decreased by 22.99 points or 1.88 per cent to close at 1637.34 points from 1660.33 points of the previous day.
The DSE-20 Index dropped by 10.87 points or 0.69 per cent to close at 1570.60 points from 1581.47 points.
The price indices on the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also went down on the day, as the losers overwhelmed the gainers.
The trade turnover, in terms of volume, dropped but in terms of value, it slightly went up.
The CSE All Share Price Index slipped by 1.42 per cent to finish at 3321.55 points from 3369.56 points of Wednesday, the previous trading day.
The CSE-30 Index moved down by 0.88 per cent to close at 3058.15 points from 3085.45 points.
A total of 1.03 million shares and debentures worth Tk 44.15 million changed hands on the day against the previous day's 1.23 million shares and debentures valued at Tk 43.14 million of the previous day.
