Nine-day remand granted for three JMB men in Comilla
3/15/2006

COMILLA, Mar 14 (UNB): A court in the district granted Tuesday a nine-day police remand for JMB's district commander Mostafizur Rahman Sohel, and ehsar members Abdus Samad alias Mintu and Alamgir, who were arrested Monday.
Sources said the nine-day remand was granted as the police produced them before the Magistrate Court seeking 10-day remand.
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested ehsar member Abdus Samad alias Mintu from a house in Bishnupur area Monday morning and acting on his statement they arrested Mostafizur Rahman Sohel from Thomson Bridge area.
Later, the elite force cordoned off North Kaliajuri area in their continued hunt for Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) Majlish-e-Shura member Khaled Saifullah and Nabil.
During the operation, four people were killed in gunshots and 'suicide' bombings in a house, 'Jannatul Shafi', while Shaekh Rahman's son Nabil and ehsar member Alamgir were arrested from the house.
