London looks to data next week
3/26/2006

LONDON, March 25 (AFP): The London stock market will seek to build Friday's five-year closing high next week, when investors focus on a batch of economic data and a smattering of corporate trading updates.
On Friday, London's FTSE 100 index of leading shares ended the week at 6,036.30 points-a gain of 0.62 per cent or 36.9 points from the previous week and marking the best finish since February 19, 2001.
The FTSE 100 had pushed above 6,000 points for the first time in five years on March 17.
Nomura stock market analyst Anais Faraj was less positive about the strength of corporate results so far this year.
