Three-day optics fair opens
4/1/2005

Bangladesh earns around US$ 100,000 through exporting frames and lenses for spectacles with a huge potential to increase the export of the item.
Commerce Minister Altaf Hossain Chowdhury Thursday apprised the potential of the emerging non-traditional industry at the seventh international optics fair at a local hotel, reports UNB.
He was inaugurating the 3-day fair titled "Bangla Optica 2005", organised by Bangladesh Optics Manufacturers Association. Some 28 manufacturers, including a few from South Korea, displayed their products at the fair.
Commerce Ministry Adviser Barkat Ullah Bulu, FBCCI Vice President Abul Kashem Haider and the Association president Monzurul Huq Sikdar also spoke on the occasion.
