BAGERHAT, Aug 19 (UNB): A suspected JMB member was arrested from Bakerganj Bazar in Chitalmari Upazila here early Saturday.
The arrested was identified as Morshed Azam Babu (24), son of Gausul Alam Chowdhury, resident of Goalkhali of Khalishpur in Khulna.
Police said night guards challenged Babu when he was moving suspiciously in the Bazar area late at night and they caught him while trying to flee.
One knife, five mobile phone SIM cards and a CD set were recovered after searching his bag.
In the morning, he was handed over to Chitalmari thana. During interrogation, Babu told police he is a student of Shibpur Hafizia Madrasah of Chitalmari.
