Demonstrators condemn Israeli aggression in Lebanon, Palestine
8/5/2006

Hundreds of Muslims Friday held angry demonstrations in the city against brutal Israeli attacks in Lebanon and Palestine, reports BDNEWS.
During the angry protests, the demonstrators expressed their hatred for Israel, the United Nations (UN) and the United States of America (USA) and demanded stopping of Israeli and US aggression on Lebanon and Palestine.
The protestors also demanded dissolution of the UN for 'not playing its due role' in bringing an end to violence in Lebanon and Palestine by the Israeli forces.
Soon after the Jum'a prayers, hundreds of Musallis under the banners of different Islamic parties and organisations, came out of different mosques in the city and took to the streets protesting repeated attacks on Lebanese and Palestinians.
They brought out separate processions, which paraded Paltan, Topkhana Road, Bijoynagar and Gulistan areas and also held rallies in these areas.
Of the organisations which staged demonstrations, held rallies and protested the Israeli attacks were Islamic Constitution Movement (ICM), Khilafat Andolan Bangladesh, Allah'r Dal, Bangladesh Islamic Samaj and Jamiat-e-Talabae Arabia.
In separate rallies, the agitators chanted various slogans against Israel as well as against the UN, its secretary general and the US for their controversial roles.
They also condemned major political parties terming them subservient to the Zionists, and saying that they had sold out their souls to them (Zionists).
The UN is an anti-Islamic organisation and always wants to destroy Islam, they alleged.
The Musallis urged the Muslim community to be united against the Zionists and Christians as well as against UN, US and the Israel.
