US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Richard Boucher left the city for India early Friday ending a 2-day visit dominated by intense discussions on the forthcoming general election in Bangladesh, reports UNB.
Boucher, however, had meetings with Foreign Affairs Advisor Reaz Rahman and some senior government officials.
He also held meetings with Opposition Leader Sheikh Hasina and representatives of civil society, mainly discussing election issues.
