AL to launch anti-govt movement after Eid
1/15/2005

The main opposition Awami League (AL) is working out a fresh spell of agitation, along with its allies, to launch a vigorous anti-government movement after the forthcoming Eid.
"We would announce the anti-government programmes after Eid-ul-Azha," Awami League General Secretary Abdul Jalil MP said Friday, as the AL-led 14-party line-up prepared for staging a countrywide demonstration today (Saturday) against fuel-price hike.
Talking to UNB about the present state of their movement and next plans, the AL leader said the parties in movement are united on the question of realising their 9-point demands, including resignation of the government for fresh elections.
About the reported differences with one of the alliance partners, CPB, he said: "We have differences and similarity on some points, but both of us are unanimous about the 9-point demands, which put us united about the current anti-government agitation."
