Kibria Murder Case
HC adjourns hearing until Nov 12
10/19/2005

The hearing of the petition overturning the Habiganj Sessions Judge's verdict that had affirmed a magistrate order rejecting the application for further investigation into the Kibria Murder Case began Tuesday, reports UNB.
A division bench, comprising justices Sharif Uddin Chaklader and AFM Ali Asgar, heard both sides and adjourned the hearing until November 12, 2005 for order.
Shah AMS Kibria, former finance minister, was killed in a grenade attack on a party rally at Baidderbazar in Habiganj district on January 27 this year.
Advocate Abdul Mazid Khan, the complainant in the Kibria Murder Case, had filed an application with the magistrate, Habiganj seeking reinvestigation into the case before the trial as the "investigation was not done properly."
On April 30, the magistrate rejected the application.
Being aggrieved, the complainant filed a review petition with the Sessions Judge's Court against the order of the magistrate. The Sessions Judge on May 10 affirmed the order of the magistrate rejecting the application for further investigation into the Kibria killing case.
The aggrieved complainant finally moved to the High Court (HC) seeking remedy against the lower courts' actions.
