CHITTAGONG, Oct 31: Smuggled Indian sarees worth over Tk 1.5 million were seized by the highway police at Fauzderhat area here recently as the incidents of smuggling through different land routes could not be stopped despite stringent security measures and strict vigilance enforced across the country, sources said.
Chittagong-based different syndicates of smugglers, managing the local law-enforcing agencies, allegedly brought Indian sarees worth Tk 1.0 billion for the current Eid season.
