BERLIN, Dec 28 (AFP): A consortium grouping German engineering giant Siemens and South Korea's Doosan Heavy Industries and Construction has won a 1.8-billion-dollar (1.5-billion-euro) contract to build an electricity production and water treatment facility in Saudi Arabia, Siemens said Wednesday. Siemens is to supply an electrical power plant to the Saudi firm Shuaibah Water and Electricity Company at a site situated in the Jeddah region of western Saudi Arabia. The facility is expected to become operational near the end of 2009, with a capacity of 900 megawatts, Siemems said.
