Govt responsible for innocent people's death : Hasina
12/9/2005

Awami League (AL) president and Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Sheikh Hasina Thursday alleged that the government's wilful indifference in taking effective action against the militants lead to deaths of innocent people in bomb blasts everyday, reports UNB.
Terming the Netrakona blasts as outrageous, anti-Islam and anti-humanity, she said: "Unless the patrons of militancy hiding in the alliance government are put on trial, the barbarous acts will not stop."
"Despite the presence of police, administration, RAB, `Cheetah' and `Cobra', the country has become a slaughter house of militant terrorists only due to the government's lack of honesty and sincerity," she said in a press statement.
Hasina said: "The ministers and MPs of the alliance government are accusing each other publicly. If the government had courage and had no link with the militants, it would have expelled those Ministers against whom allegations were brought."
She added: "When a drastic action was needed to quell the militants, the government is killing time in the name of dialogue and discussion, allowing the evil forces to reorganise."
Referring to the remarks of the State Minister for Home Affairs that the situation in the country is better than at any time, Hasina said within 12 hours of his "boastful" words, bombs were exploded in his home district
