Nilphamari hospital renovation work in progress
Our Correspondent
3/24/2006

NILPHAMARI, Mar 23: The infrastructural development work of Nilphamari Sadar Hospital is going on in full swing.
Situated at the heart of the town, the hospital lacked all sorts of modern facilities, which caused immense sufferings to the local people for long.
The 50-bed hospital is not enough for 1.6 million people of the district. And the problem turns severe when diarrhoea breaks out in an endemic form, sources said.
Shortage of physicians and medical staff is another perennial problem the hospital has been facing since its inception.
Although the emergency room generally remains open round the clock, the shortage of physicians and nurses hampers its proper functioning everyday.
On completion of the renovation work the hospital will turn into a modern one.
