          278 projects being implemented
RANGAMATI, Mar 23: Some 278 development projects are being implemented in 10 upazilas and two municipalities of the district at a cost of Tk 10.5 million (1.05 crore) and utilising 602 tonnes food grains. The projects are being implemented under Rural Infrastructure Maintenance (TR) and Rural Infrastructure Renovation and Beautification programmes, which include construction of rural roads and educational and religious institutions, canal excavation and playground renovation. Besides, work on three projects are also going on in Kaptai and Naniarchar upazilas under beautification programme while eight projects as per the priority project pledged by the Prime Minister. — UNB
Bomb explosion hurts one
JESSORE, Mar 23: A middle-aged man was injured critically in a bomb explosion near his house at Bagerhat Tentulia village in Sadar Upazila Wednesday. The victim, identified as Abdul Kader (50), son of Manjurul Islam, was rushed to the Jessore 250-bed General Hospital with serious splinter injuries in his legs and hands. His condition was stated to be critical. The police suspected that local terrorists kept the bomb hidden near the place to commit a crime. — UNB
