Chinese premier arrives today on two-day visit
4/7/2005

A red-carpet reception awaits Chinese premier Wen Jiabao when he arrives in the city today (Thursday) on a two-day official visit to Bangladesh, report agencies.
19 gun salutes will herald the arrival of Jiabao by a special aircraft at ZIA International Airport at 2:40 pm.
Prime Minister Khaleda Zia would receive the Chinese leader at the tarmac of the airport.
Diplomats in Dhaka and Beijing see Jiabao's visit, second by a premier of China in three years time, as significant in taking the Sino-Bangladesh ties to a new height through promoting political and economic cooperation.
Within hours of his arrival from Pakistan, Jiabao and Khaleda would have a tete-a-tete at the PM Office before joining their delegations at official talks.
