Biral will be turned into a full-fledged land port to facilitate rail and road communications. An inter-ministerial meeting held Wednesday at the conference room of the Ministry of Shipping took the decision, according to a press release. The meeting decided to expand broad gauge and mix gauge line from Zero point to 150 yards up to the land port in Bangladesh part to resume the activities of the port, the press release added. The meeting decided to build railway shunting yard including railway station near the port and carry out expansion of broad gauge rail track from Radhikapur station in the Indian part up to Zero point of India-Bangladesh border. — BSS
