President Iajuddin Ahmed Wednesday summoned the 20th session of the eighth Jatiya Sangsad on January 23 at 4:15pm.
As per the Constitution, the President will address the new year's first session on the inaugural day.
A number of important bills, including the anti-terrorism one, will be placed in the session, the law ministry sources said.
The 20th session will be significant as the main opposition political party, the Awami League, is expected to join after remaining absent from the house for more than a year, party sources said, reports BSS.
Top leaders of the opposition 14-party combine met AL President and Leader of Opposition in parliament Sheikh Hasina at her 'Sudha Sadhan' residence Tuesday and urged her to join the coming session of the parliament, according to sources.
