          Leader of the Opposition and Awami League (AL) President Sheikh Hasina attended an Iftar party in the capital Sunday with orphans, freedom fighters (FFs) and August 21 victims' family members and injured, reports BDNEWS.
The AL chief exchanged pleasantries with the victims' family members while a pall of gloom descended the Iftar party as Hasina enquired about their situation.
A special Munajat was offered at the Iftar held at the Dhanmondi office of the party where Sheikh Hasina prayed for the salvation of the departed souls and peace and prosperity of the country.
Hasina, who herself broke out into tears, embraced them and consoled the family members.
Earlier, Hasina also exchanged pleasantries with Dhaka City AL leaders and workers at another Iftar held at a community centre in front of her party office in Dhanmondi.
