The United Arab Emirates (UAE) contributed US$ 154,000 to the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) as the UAE mandatory contribution to the IUT for the financial year 2004-2005, said a press release.
UAE Ambassador in Bangladesh Khalfan Battal Ali Al-Mansouri handed over the cheque to IUT Vice Chancellor M Fazli Ilahi in the city Tuesday as full settlement of UAE contribution to the budget of IUT, a subsidiary organ of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) for the year.
The IUT vice chancellor thanked the envoy and the UAE for this as well as for previous contributions and the moral support given to the university.
The ambassador assured the vice chancellor of continued help and assistance from the UAE to this prestigious university of the OIC for its overall development.
