President urges Malaysia to invest in Bangladesh

          President Iajuddin Ahmed said Tuesday Malaysia could explore the possibility of more investment in different prospective areas in Bangladesh, reports UNB.
He said this when Malaysian High Commissioner in Bangladesh Dato Ashaary Sani made a farewell call on him at the Bangabhaban.
Iajuddin thanked the high commissioner for his successful tenure in Bangladesh and his contribution to strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Malaysia.
Expressing satisfaction at the quantum of Malaysian investment in Bangladesh, he expressed the hope that Malaysia would continue to move forward on the road to progress and prosperity under the able and dynamic leadership of incumbent Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
The President underscored the need for reducing the huge trade gap between Bangladesh and Malaysia.
Referring to Malaysia's commendable achievements in ICT sector, he said both the countries could cooperate in the sector and other related fields for mutual benefit.
He conveyed through the high commissioner his deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and to the bereaved family members at the sad demise of the Prime Minister's wife.
Iajuddin expressed satisfaction at the existing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Malaysia, which is deeply rooted in common history and culture, and have grown in depth and dimension over the years.
