The government has been urged to activate the Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) and sign international anti-corruption charter without delay. Speakers made this appeal at a two-day annual conference of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) held in collaboration with some 30 citizens' committees of six districts at Kaitra under Manikganj. Speaking at the conference held from December 21-22, speakers voiced their concern over the prevailing law and order situation and its adverse impact on the country's socio-economy. They also demanded holding of the next general elections in a free and fair manner. Speakers shared experiences and activities of their respective districts and promised to activate anti-corruption movement at their respective localities. TIB Executive Director Iftekharuzzaman, Chairman of the Board of Trustee Samson H Chowdhury, members Khan Sarwar Murshid, Mozaffar Ahmed, Mahfuz Anam, M Hafiz Uddin Khan, Sultana Kamal, among others, attended the conference.
