SAARC Charter Day observed in city

          The SAARC Charter Day was observed in the city Thursday through different programmes, reports BSS.
The SAARC Meteorological Research Centre (SMRC), Dhaka organised a rally and procession from SAARC Meteorological Research Centre to Bangladesh-China Friendship Centre.
Food and Disaster Minister Kamal Ibne Yusuf inaugurated the procession as the chief guest while Defence Secretary Mesbah Uddin Ahmed chaired the function.
The SMRC organised a display session of different meteorological instruments.
Research Officers from SMRC and other scientific organisations of the country presented scientific papers in the session.
The minister addressing the rally said it would be possible to reduce damage of life and property caused by natural calamities if early forecast about such calamities could be anticipated.
