BOGOTA, Feb 7 (AFP): Six Colombian police officers died Monday and seven others were wounded during a clash with rebels in northern Colombia where the government is seeking to destroy coca crops, officials said.
The police officers were apparently guarding workers contracted by the government to destroy coca crops in a northern nature reserve when they were attacked by guerrillas of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). One worker was also wounded in the attack.
