Price indices on bourses continue to rise

          The price indices on the country's two bourses continued to rise Thursday.
The DSE All Share Price Index closed at 1215.42 points, registering 6.13 points or 0.51 per cent rise from 1209.29 points of Wednesday, the previous trading day.
The DSE General Index moved up by 8.27 points or 0.52 per cent to close at 1588.96 points from 1560.09.
The DSE-20 Index went up by 10.67 points or 0.71 per cent to close at 1505.91 points from 1495.23.
About 1.47 million shares and debentures, worth Tk 141.33 million, changed hands on the day, against 1.78 million shares, valued at Tk 176.86 million of the previous trading day.
A total of 181 issues were traded on the day, including 120 gainers, 44 losers and 17 remaining unchanged, as estimated on the basis of closing prices.
The price indices on the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also moved up on the day as the trade turnover, in terms of both volume and value, however, decreased on the day.
The CSE All Share Price Index rose by 0.94 per cent to finish at 3197.18 points from 3167.24 points of Wednesday.
The CSE-30 Index went up by 1.16 per cent to close at 3017.81 points from 2983.07.
A total of 0.74 million shares and debentures, worth Tk 27.32 million, changed hands on the day, against the previous day's 0.89 million shares and debentures, valued at Tk 48.24 million.
