The US dollar climbed to record high against the Bangladesh taka (BDT) Thursday in the local inter-bank foreign exchange market. In the formal inter-bank market, the exchange rate of the greenback against the taka varied between Tk 68.18 and Tk 71.40 against the previous day's range between Tk 68.14 and Tk 68.20. The cash dollar was firmer in public deals and was transacted at rates between Tk 68.90 and Tk 72.24. In the informal market, the dollar was traded between Tk 69.90 and Tk 70.20 against previous day's range between Tk 68.80 and Tk 69.20.
