          Social Investment Bank recommends
issuing rights share
The board of directors of Social Investment Bank Limited did not recommend any dividend for the year 2005. However, the board decided to issue 100 per cent rights share (1:1 at par) for the year 2005. This rights offer is subject to approval of the SEC. The extra-ordinary general meeting (EGM) of the company will be held on April 23, 2006 at 11am at the City Grand Hall, Bashundhara City, Panthapath, Dhaka. The record date for the EGM will be March 30. The time and venue of the AGM will be notified later.
IDLC board recommends 37.5pc dividend
The board of directors of IDLC has recommended a cash dividend of 37.50 per cent for the year 2005. The annual general meeting (AGM) of the company will be held on April 26, 2006 at 10am at the Officer's Club, 26 Baily Road, Dhaka. The record date will be April 6, 2006.
IDLC earns Tk 152.73m net profit
IDLC earned a net profit of Tk 152.73 million in the year that ended on December 31, 2005. The earnings per share (EPS) of the company stood at Tk 101.82.
SEC fines two DSE members
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has fined Salam & Company Ltd, a Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) member (No. 190), and Country Stock (Bangladesh) Ltd, a DSE member (No. 099), Tk 0.1 million each for non-compliance of the securities laws.
Perfume Chemical recommends
no dividend
The board of directors of Perfume Chemical Industries Ltd (Manola) did not recommend any dividend for the year 2004-2005. The annual general meeting (AGM) of the company will be held on June 14, 2006 at 11:30am at the Royal Garden, 8, Moulana Mohammad Ali Road, Dampara, Chittagong. The book-closure will be from June 5, 2006 to June 14, 2006.
SEC exempts SIBL from paying fines
The SEC has exempted the 24 directors, managing director and company secretary of Social Investment Bank Ltd (SIBL) from paying fines of Tk 0.1 million each as imposed earlier as the bank distributed dividends to MA Mannan and his family, shareholders of the bank.
United Insurance AGM on May 15
The 21st AGM of United Insurance Company Limited will be held on May 15, 2006 at 11am at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre at Agargaon in Dhaka. Other information of the AGM will remain unchanged.
