Pak businesses keen on joint ventures with Beximco Textiles
FE Report
11/28/2005

Pakistani entrepreneurs have expressed their keenness to launch joint venture textile projects with Beximco Textiles Limited, a fully export-oriented company of Beximco Group.
The expression of interest came when a Pakistani textile delegation, led by Pakistan Bedwear Exporters Association Chairman Shabir Ahmed, visited Beximco Textiles' factory recently.
The factory, situated at Beximco Industrial Park at Kashimpur in Gazipur, is South Asia's largest cotton-to-garment vertical textile complex.
Beximco Textiles Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Syed Naved Husain welcomed the delegation and briefed them on the Beximco Group. The company's Chief Operating Officer Sardar Ahmed Khan was also present.
The Pak textile delegation observed the factory's spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing and stitching units and the design and product development centre, catering to globally-reputed brands and retailers. They appreciated its operations, production quality and the technical edge it enjoys over other competitors.
"The Pakistani delegates are eyeing avenues for joint venture with Beximco Textiles," said Husain.
Later, the Pakistani delegation visited the Bone China Ceramic Plants at the Beximco Industrial Park. Beximco Textiles last month opened its exclusive fashion shop, a 'Yellow' outlet, at Karachi in Pakistan.
Beximco Textiles is a state-of-the-art weaving, dyeing and finishing mill of the country. It was incorporated in March, 1994 and started commercial operation by the middle of 1995.
Major buyers of Beximco Textiles include JC Penney, Levi's, PVH, Perry Ellis, Haddad, Docker's, Graphic Design and Cotton Group of the USA. Besides, it has European buyers like H & M, Zara, Henbury, Docker's, Carrefour, BHS, Gulden Pfenig, OBS, Orsay (Asop), Kappahl and Matalan.
