COLOMBO, Feb 24 (AFP): The main Marxist party in Sri Lanka's ruling coalition Thursday threatened to quit over proposed concessions by the government to Tamil Tiger rebels. The People's Liberation Front, or JVP, said it did not subscribe to a government statement expressing willingness to set up an interim administrative structure which would hand political powers to rebels in the embattled northeast. JVP legislator Wimal Weerawansa told parliament that his party was rejecting the position announced in a government statement Wednesday to mark the third anniversary of the Norwegian-brokered truce.
