Price indices rise at bourses

          The price indices on the country's two bourses marked sharp rises Sunday, as gaining issues easily outplayed the losing ones.
The DSE All Share Price Index closed at 1235.56 points, registering 20.14 points or 1.36 per cent rise from 1215.42 points of Thursday, the previous trading day.
The DSE General Index moved up by 25.47 points or 1.60 per cent to close at 1614.44 points from 1588.96.
The DSE-20 Index went up by 27.34 points or 1.81 per cent to close at 1533.25 points from 1505.91.
About 3.37 million shares and debentures, worth Tk 192.90 million, changed hands on the day, against 1.47 million shares, valued at Tk 141.33 million of the previous trading day.
A total of 194 issues were traded on the day, including 168 gainers, 15 losers and 11 remaining unchanged, as estimated on the basis of closing prices.
The price indices on the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also posted remarkable gains on the day. The trade turnover, in terms of both volume and value, also increased on the day.
The CSE All Share Price Index rose by 8.35 per cent to finish at 3464.31 points from 3197.18 points of Thursday, the previous trading day.
The CSE-30 Index went up by 19.65 per cent to close at 3610.73 points from 3017.81.
