          Two centuries by Mehrab Hossain Opee and Fahim Muntasir Sumit guided league leaders Dhaka Division to a massive 574 for all in 158.4 overs in the first innings against Barisal Division on the second day of the four-day National Cricket League at Barisal Stadium Wednesday, reports UNB.
In reply, hosts Barisal Division in their first innings scored 26 runs for one in 19 overs losing the wicket of Bikash Sharma (4) when bails were drawn for the day.
Resuming with overnight 267 for 3, Dhaka Division posted the huge total in the afternoon with nightwatch batsman cum country's first ODI century maker Mehrab Hossain Opee (66) playing an eye-catching innings of 168 runs off 286 balls with 22 boundaries.
Another Bangladesh international, Fahim Muntasir Sumit, batting at number eight, contributed 106 runs off 135 balls in 127 minutes that included 16 fours.
Towhid Hossain Shaymal picked up four Dhaka wickets for 47 runs in 12 overswith two maidens while pacer Mohammad Sharif claimed three for 132 runs.
Brief score: Dhaka Division - 1st innings - 574 for all in 158.4 overs (overnight 267 for 3 in 90 overs). Mehrab Hossain Opee 168, Fahim Muntasir Sumit 106, Anwar Hossain 84, Rashedul Haque 68, Adil Ahmed batting 48, extras 20, Towhid Hossain Shaymol 4/47, Mohammad Sharif 3/132.
Barisal Division - 1st innings - 26 for one in 19 overs. Imran Ahmed batting 20, Bikash Sharma 4, Ishraq Sonet batting 0, extras 2, Masudur Rahman 1/0.
In another match, Rajshahi Division resumed their first innings with overnight 336 for 5 and finally made 425 for all in 133 overs against Khulna Division on the second day at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium Wednesday.
One down Farhad Reza, who resumed batting with 171 runs, carried his innings to 177 off 276 balls in 330 minutes with 28 fours and two sixes while another nightwatch batsman Anisur Rahman Sanchoy (53), added useful 92 runs off 166 balls with eleven fours.
Pacer Ziaur Rahman was the most successful among the Khulna bowlers claiming four wickets for 113 runs in 24 overs while Ashraful Haque took three for 72 runs, also in 24 overs.
In reply, touring Khulna Division, riding on unconquered 105 runs by opener Sajjadul Hasan, took up the Rajshahi challenge boldly to post 265 runs for 3 in 65 overs when the bails were drawn for the day.
Khulna Division made a flying start scoring 158 runs in the opening stand.
Sajjadul Hasan was batting with 105 runs off 181 balls with 16 fours while another opener Gazi Alamgir contributed 90 runs off 104 balls with 12 fours and a six.
Spinner Saifullah Khan Gem of Rajshahi took two wickets for 69 runs in 23 overs with four maidens.
