Mahbub emerges Independence TT champion in

          Mahbub of Biman emerged champion in the men's single of the Amicus Properties Independence Day Invitational Table Tennis tournament with a 4-2 victory over Pappu at the Wooden Floor Gymnasium Wednesday, reports BDNEWS.
Mahbub went down 0-2 sets after losing 11-13 and 10-12, but later the champion bounced back winning the last four sets by 15-13, 12-10, 11-9 and 11-3. Saleha of Abahani clinched the women's single title with a straight 4-0 victory over Ruma of Biman in the title-deciding last match.
Ankhi of Lalbagh became champion in the unseeded women's event beating neighbour Bristi by straight 3-0 sets while Rocky of Narail emerged champion in the Boy's single with a 4-2 victory over Mishu.
National Sports Council Director Shiblee Nazir distributed prizes among the winners while former champions Munira Murshed Helen and Akbar Aziz were present.
