The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Public Undertakings has asked the authorities concerned to sincerely and honestly deal with the recommendations made by the committee on the T&T mobile phone, reports BSS.
The committee at a meeting with its chairman Abdul Aleem in the chair Sunday observed that the authorities concerned should follow the decisions and the recommendations made by the committee to dispel all public confusion about the T&T mobile phone.
Members of the committee Whip Rezaul Bari Dina, Salah Uddin Ahmed, Alamgir M Mahafuz Ullah Farid, Faruk Khan, Wadud Bhuiyan and Syed Abdullah M Taher attended the meeting, a Parliament Secretariat press release said.
Secretaries of Post and Telecommunications Ministry, Energy and Mineral Resources Secretary, Chairmen of BTTB, Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) and senior officials concerned were present.
The meeting asked the authorities concerned to take reasonable decisions to fulfil the people's aspirations for the T&T mobile phone, and include adept and technically sound persons in the board of directors of the T&T Mobile Phone Company.
It also discussed other related matters and underlined the importance to play role in rationalising charges of the private cell-phone operators.
