ICMAB National Council polls held

          Members of the 12th National Council and the Dhaka Branch Council were elected as the 33rd annual general meeting (AGM) of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) was held in the city recently.
A total of 24 candidates contested election in 12 seats of the 12th National Council for the three-year term of 2005-2007. The elected members are Md Nurul Hassan, Md Ishaque, Chowdhury Hafizur Rahman, Satipati Moitra, Md Ruhul Amin, Md Anisur Rahman, Md Abdul Aziz, Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, AKM Delwer Hussain, Mohammed Salim, Akhtar Sanjida Kashem and Md Abdul Hannan Mia.
On the other hand, a total of 20 candidates vied for 10 seats of the Dhaka Branch Council. The elected members for the one-year term are Md Akhtaruzzaman, Md Maksudur Rahman Sarker, Zahiruddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Naba Krishna Muni, Arif Khan, Md Mamunur Rashid, Mohammad Showkat Nawaz, Md Rashad Kamal, Jamal Ahmed Choudhury, and G M Omar Faruque Choudhury.
ICMAB President AKM Delwer Hussain presided over the AGM while Secretary Md SR Khan and Treasurer Rafiq Ahmad presented the annual report and the annual accounts respectively of the institute for the fiscal year of 2003-2004.
A good number of past presidents, council members, fellow and associate members of the institute also were present.
