BCB XI suffer humiliation in Duleep Trophy

          Touring BCB XI made a frustrating start in the Indian Duleep Trophy Cricket conceding an innings and 149-run defeat against Sourav Ganguly-led East Zone on the third day of the four-day match at the Vidarbha ground in Nagpur Thursday, reports UNB.
Replying to the East Zone's mammoth first innings total of 454 for 6 (declared), BCB Eleven resumed their second innings Thursday with overnight 123 for 8 and were bundled out for 163 runs in 40.3 overs after the remaining two wickets added only 40 runs in 7.3 overs.
Earlier, Wednesday, BCB Eleven was dismissed cheaply for 142 runs in the first innings to be the victim of follow-on against devastating bowling by pacer SS Paul, who grabbed six wickets for 45 runs in 15 overs with two maidens.
Promising spinner Abdur Razzak Raj, who grabbed three Indian wickets, resumed batting at number eight with overnight 32 runs and remained not out on 52 playing 90 balls in 61 minutes that included eleven fours and a six.
Another night watch batsman, Anwar Hossain Monir (0) scored four runs while national cricketer Talha Jubair added nine runs off 20 balls with a boundary.
Pacer SS Pual and RR Bose, who took two wickets each on Wednesday, finished the day with 11.3-3-30-3 and 13-6-50-3 in addition S Sanyal's three-wicket haul.
BCB Eleven will play their second and last match in the Indian first class cricket meet against Central Zone in New Delhi on March 1-4.
