Accused in Sagir murder case killed in shootout
3/1/2006

Habibur Rahman alias 'Bhua Habib', a terrorist and an accused in the murder of Jubo Dal leader Sagir, was killed in a shootout with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Kumudini Math area of Narayanganj early Tuesday, reports UNB.
Earlier, at 5.00pm Sunday, 'Bhua Habib', son of M Elahi Miah, was arrested from the third floor of an apartment building at 17, Ahsanullah Road (Nawab Bari Dakkhin Pukur Par) in Kotwali Thana of the city.
On Tuesday, the elite force along with Habib went to Kumudini Math adjacent to Muslimnagar in Narayanganj at about 3:45 am to arrest his associates and recover illegal arms.
As soon as they reached the scene, Habib's cohorts opened fire on the RAB team, forcing them to fire back.
They said Habib was seriously injured as he came in the line of fire while trying to escape and later died on way to hospital.
