Danish team arrives today to visit Danida PSD scheme

          A high level delegation from various organisations in Denmark is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka today (Sunday) to get a first hand knowledge of the development needs of the private sector in Bangladesh, reports BSS.
The 14-member delegation led by FranzMichael Skjold Mellbin from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs will stay in the country for three days, said a press release in the city Monday.
The delegation will visit some projects supported by Danida
Private Sector Development (PSD) Programme and will participate in a half-day workshop to be held in Dhaka October 19.
The delegation will seek suggestions from local business leaders on improving the effectiveness of Danida PSD Programme in fulfilling the development needs of local enterprises.
The Bangladesh Enterprise Institute will present their findings and recommendations based on a local review of the implementation of Danida PSD Programme during 1999-2005.
The PSD programme has been supporting technology transfer to Bangladesh since 1999 and until date over Tk 1.5 billion (150 crore) has been committed as grant and loan assistance to 45 projects in various businesses, the press release added.
