A huge consignment of smuggled Indian saris worth Tk 10 million was seized in a BDR raid on the Subarna Express at Feni railway station Monday night, official sources confirmed. Acting on a tip-off, a squad of the border guards led by Maj Rafiqul Islam raided the Chittagong-bound train at 10pm and recovered 30 bales of Indian saris breaking open the locomotive room. The costly saris were loaded in the train at different stations, including Akhaura, "with the help of the train driver," according to BDR sources. "Preparation is underway for filing a case accusing the train driver," said BDR 31 Battalion Commander Lt Col Zakir Hossain. — UNB
