Knitwear export missed the target by 18.6 percent for the first time in past few years in September, official sources said, reports BDNEWS However, export of knitwear grew 12 percent to US$ 256 million in September and 18 percent to $ 919 million in the first three months of the current fiscal over the same periods last year, the sources at the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) said. EPB officials said increased export of knitwear contributed to the high growth in exports during the past two years, although it missed target by 2.68 percent in the first quarter. Country's total exports grew by 4.42 percent to $ 2.47 billion in the July-September period of the current fiscal over the same period last year mainly due to the high growth in knitwear and primary products exports, the sources said.
