Khaleda for more media role in focusing govt’s successes
4/7/2005

Prime Minister Khaleda Zia expressed the hope Wednesday that media would be more attentive to projecting government's successes alongside constructive criticism of its work to further encourage people to join the national development process.
"In the democratic system of government, people have the right to know the development and welfare activities done by the elected government so that they can know facilities offered and enjoy the benefit of various development and welfare programmes of the government", she said.
Any success belongs to the country and its people are the key players behind overall success through their participation in development works while government acts as facilitator providing guidelines and supports to the end, the PM observed.
"Projection in media can further encourage people to keep up contribution in the national development process", she said while receiving a book portraying development scenario of the country.
