Mufti Hannan, kingpin of the Harkat-ul-Jihad, has been taken on a fresh seven-day remand in the bomb attack case on the Supreme Court premises as part of the August 17 series of bomb blasts across the country. The Detective Branch (DB) of the Police Tuesday produced him before the court of Magistrate Mir Ali Reza and sought 10-day remand for further interrogation. Mufti Hannan alias Zaman alias Milon, top leader of the banned Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (HuJI), was produced before the court amid tight security. On October 12, taking permission of the court, Mufti Hannan described him as a citizen of Bangladesh and said: ''I was a madrasa student and don't persecute me through the remand.'' UNB from Satkhira adds : Chargesheet was submitted to the court Monday against 20 people including JMB and JMJB leaders Shaikh Abdur Rahman, his brother Ataur Rahman Sani and Siddiqur Rahman alias Bangla Bhai accusing them of August 17 bomb blasts in the town. In another report, two arrested militants Tuesday confessed their alleged involvement in the October 3 bomb blasts in the Chittagong district court.
