RAJSHAHI, Feb 7 (UNB): Police Tuesday arrested Dr Mirza M Mohiuddin, a teacher of Geology and Mining of Rajshahi University, for grilling in connection with the murder of his colleague Prof Abu Taher. Matihar police picked him up from the university's Kajla Gate at about 5pm, hours after Dr Mohiuddin addressed a press conference at Juberi bhaban on the campus claiming that he was not involved in the killing. "I also demand proper inquiry into the murder and immediate judgement," he told the news conference, convened for a rebuttal to some newspaper reports implicating him in the incident. Meanwhile, police took Salam and Azimuddin on seven-day remand and started interrogating them. They were also looking for another suspect. The university students, including students of Geology and Mining Department, staged demonstrations on the campus for the fifth straight day against the killing of their teacher.
