THAKURGAON, Feb 7: Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) shot dead a Bangladeshi farmer at Ratnai border in Baliadanga Upazila Tuesday. Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) source and family of the victim said Alamgir Kabir alias Alam Mia (20), son of a peasant of Kashibari village, was irrigating a paddy land in the morning when BSF men of Natuatuli camp shot him dead. The body was dragged to the BSF camp. When villagers protested the killing of an innocent peasant, the BSF allowed local UP member Nazimuddin to enter into the Indian side and identify Alamgir. Confirming the incident, local BDR Commander Shahidul Islam said the BSF agreed to return the body of Alamgir tomorrow (Wednesday). — UNB
