Earlier report adds: The first day of the two-day industrial and transport strike - enforced by SKOP or Workers and Employers Unity Council - was partially observed across the country Tuesday.
Sources said most of the mills and factories particularly jute and textiles mills in Khulna in Chittagong, were closed. But different industrial units in the city's Tejgaon and Tongi areas remained were open.
Some garments factories in Tejgaon area remained closed.
SKOP enforced the two-day non-stop strike in the transport and industrial sectors from 6:00am Tuesday, demanding immediate implementation of the agreement signed with it by the government.
