Chinese Premier due tomorrow
4/6/2005

The ensuing two-day visit of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao is considered by Dhaka as "politically very significant" tagged with economic benefit for Bangladesh to reduce huge trade imbalance, report agencies.
The Chinese Premier arrives in the city tomorrow (Thursday) at the invitation of Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
"It will be a milestone visit that would strengthen the deep-rooted bilateral relations at a time when Bangladesh and China is celebrating its 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations," said Foreign Secretary Hemayetuddin at a press briefing Tuesday.
He said, "A number of agreements would be signed during Wen's visit and we will focus on narrowing the huge trade gap."
Hemayet said a positive outcome is also expected on air-link between the two countries opening Kunming-Dhaka-Beijing route and road communications on Kunming-Myanmar-Cox's Bazar roadway.
Prime Minister Khaleda Zia and Prime Minister Wen Jiabao will have in-dept discussion on various issues and bilateral cooperation covering economy, trade, investment, agriculture, education and cultural affairs.
